01/31/2005: "Shoremen Upset Warriors"

The #5 seeded Duluth-Superior Shoremen traveled to Prior Lake on Saturday night and soundly defeated the #4 Minnesota Valley Warriors. Shoremen quarterback Nathan Smithson threw for 3 TD's (two to WR Cedric Taggart-2 catches 114 yards), while RB David Corbitt rushed 28 times for 142 yards and 2 TD's. The Shoremen defense was very strong, led by LB Nick Farrell. The Shoremen now travel to face the undefeated Central Minnesota Thunderbirds on Sunday at St. Johns University. The Shoremen would like to acknowledge the great job that the Warriors did this year, Coach Ryan Sanborn, and GM Jason Blomer.
