North American Football League Championship in Las Vegas
Wednesday, October 17, 2007, 12:00 pm ET

The 9th NAFL National Championship Game is scheduled for November 10 in Las Vegas

Eden Prairie, MN, October 17, 2007>, /PRNewswire/ -- The North American Football League will be descending upon Las Vegas, Nevada in approximately three weeks for their annual National Championship event. The North American Football League is the largest Minor-League Football organization of its kind in the world. With over 140 teams nationwide this truly is a “National Championship.”

Last year’s Champion the Dallas Diesel are making a strong bid for a repeat, and will attempt to avenge their only loss of the year in this week’s third round Match-up with the Bay Area Gamblers. The King County Jaguars, a powerhouse team from Seattle, are also looking to get back to the Championship game, having been there in 2005.

Another Past Championship team that is still in the play-offs are the Kane County Eagles from the Chicago area. Kane County won the NAFL Championship in 2004 and have survived two rough road games in the first two rounds of the play-offs. They will travel to play the undefeated Pittsburgh Colts this week.

Last year’s runners-up the Nashville Storm host the Alabama Lightning in a pivotal battle in the South, and the Asheville Grizzlies welcome the Georgia Generals to the “Mountaintop” for their match-up this weekend.

The Favorite to this point however, has to be the Central Penn Piranha. Undefeated at home in over 100 contests, they host the team that knocked them out of the play-offs last season the South Jersey Lynx.

The NAFL All-Star games will also be held the same weekend and feature the best players in America that play “For the Love of the Game” and not for a paycheck. These All-Star games attract talent scouts from around the country and often NAFL players are invited to Pro Scouting Combines as a result of their performance here.

The 2007 NAFL National Championship is the 9th Championship game for the league. The previous three Championships were held at Walt Disney World’s Wide World of Sports complex in Orlando, and before that the games were played at the home field of one of the Championship teams.
