Stampede & Thunderhawks (GPFL) to "Battle for the Badger"

The Superior Stampede (MFL) and the Northern Wisconsin Thunderhawks (GPFL) have agreed to play for northern Wisconsin bragging rights in a game billed as "The Battle for the Badger"! The winner will get to possess the hand-carved wood badger as their traveling trophy until the teams meet again. The hope and intent is that these two teams will play annually for many years to come! Post season

Five Mid-America Football League teams will be playing in post season play for 2006.

After a very completive MFL season with 7 teams having winning records, five teams have been invited to play in post season.
Mid-States
They are Lacrosse/Winona Rough Riders (7-4-1) beat the Milwaukee Marauders 6 to 0 in the first round of the Mid-States Tournament on Oct 14. Next:

Superior Stampede 2007 Combine!

The Superior Stampede will hold their one and only combine for the upcoming 2007 season on Saturday, January 13th, 2007 from 10:00-noon at the Health & Wellness Center on the campus of the University Wisconsin-Superior. Cost is $25.00 per participant and includes a Stampede t-shirt. Participants will run the 40 yard dash, short-shuttle, 225 bench press for reps., vertical jump, and position drills. The Stampede finished in final four in their first season in the MFL in 2006! They also travel to all away games in luxury coach bus, have many major sponsors (including Miller-Lite & Allegiant Airlines), and are one of the only teams in the country that sell beer at home games!
